KATHARINA ROSENBERGER: MADRIGALI NOTTURNI (UA)
Ancient and new music is interwoven with light and architecture to form a kinetic sculpture, i.e. a sculpture which reacts to sounds. At the heart of this laboratory of space and sound which actively integrates listeners into the tonal events are the composers Adrian Willaerts (1490-1562) and his pupil Cipriano de Rore (1515/16-1565) who inspired Katharina Rosenberger to a contemporary response with an equally delicate contrapuntal structure which simultaneously enters into a dialogue with these voices from the Renaissance. Phenomena such as reverberations and echoes also determine the choreography of the singers. Sound, light, space and movement are fused into a sculpture in which the public is invited to become attuned to their inner selves and their environment.
