PAVILLON DER SINNE
Final presentantion of AKADEMIE DER SPIELE
Unseen by the “general public”, the children are able to explore a wide range of artistic fields before quasi “exploding” in the garden in the Pavilion of the Senses. This event is always captivating and fascinating in its display of the potential which is seemingly inherent in all individuals, but so frequently becomes submerged at such an early stage. Each year, the Academy of Play attracts internationally renowned artists for its children’s workshops, thereby adhering to a fundamental concept established by Leibniz. A tradition has evolved at the Academy of Play of recruiting individuals who provided highlights in the festival of the previous year. The installation artist Tamara Grcic who works with photos, film and videos and the composer Daniel Ott – both involved in the 2012 festival – are joined by the landscape architect and urban planner Florian Otto from the well-known agency “Bauchplan” from Munich and Vienna. Among other laudations, Otto received the Artistic Prize from the Bayerische Akademie der Schönen Künste in 2012. The team is complemented by the installation and performance artist Folke Köbberling who is the recipient of numerous international prizes.
